IT workers say they’re better at job than boss

October 14, 2013

A majority of information technology professionals believe they can do their boss’ job better than he or she does, according to a new survey by staffing provider TEKsystems done in time for National Boss’ Day on Wednesday.

The survey of 900 information technology professionals found that 54 percent believe they could do their boss’ job better than their boss.

In addition, IT pros ranked themselves ahead of their bosses on creativity, with 98 percent rating themselves as excellent or good; only 69 percent ranked their boss as excellent or good.

However, when it came to human resources issues, 73 percent of IT professionals rated their bosses as being excellent or good, just slightly lower than the IT professionals rated themselves (79 percent).

Still, 75 percent of IT professionals rate their overall relationship with their boss as either excellent or good.
