The number of IT jobs in the US rose 0.2% in November from October to more than 5.0 million jobs, the TechServe Alliance reported today.

“While not as robust as earlier in the year, IT employment continued its steady climb in November,” said TechServe Alliance CEO Mark Roberts. “This follows October where IT jobs crossed the important milestone of 5 million jobs for the first time.”

Year over year, IT jobs rose by 3.9% since November 2014, adding 187,300 IT workers.

Engineering job growth edged up 0.1% in November from the previous month and 0.8% year over year, adding 20,500 engineering workers since November 2014 for a total of more than 2.5 million US engineering jobs.

“As it has for most of 2015, engineering job growth continues to be anemic,” Roberts said.
