IT Leaders: People Issues Can Derail Projects

December 07, 2011

Ninety-four percent of information technology leaders agree that people-based issues like talent attraction, development, retention, and team communication can derail the success of IT projects, according to TEKsystems’ quarterly IT Executive Outlook survey. However, only 51 percent of respondents say human capital issues get the strategic attention they deserve, the survey found.

Fifty-five percent of IT leaders reported IT staffing firms as having the highest human capital management expertise. Staffing firms were followed by systems integrators (42 percent) and business consulting firms (40 percent).

TEKsystems partnered with the Inavero Institute to conduct this quarterly survey of more than 2,100 IT leaders.
