The CompTIA information technology business confidence index rose seven points in December to a reading of 60 points on a 100-point scale. CompTIA reports the reading points to a renewed optimism and a strengthening economy.
"After several quarters of lackluster performance, an improving CompTIA confidence index should be welcome news to companies eager for economic stability," said Tim Herbert, VP of research.
The index's survey found that one in three U.S. IT companies plan to increase staffing levels over the next six months.
The index's survey took place in December among IT companies in the U.S. and other parts of the world. CompTIA is an organization that represents the IT industry.
