ISM manufacturing index little changed in June

July 01, 2014

The Institute for Supply Management’s purchasing managers' index for U.S. manufacturing edged down to a reading of 55.3 percent in June from 55.4 in May, showing continued expansion in June but at a slower pace than May. Readings above 50 indicate growth.

The employment portion of the index’s reading of 52.8 percent in June is unchanged from May.

MarketWatch says the report indicates the decline in first-quarter U.S. real GDP may be an anomaly.
