Economic activity in the non-manufacturing sector grew in November at a faster pace than October, according to the Institute for Supply Management’s non-manufacturing report on business released today.

ISM’s non-manufacturing business activity index rose in November to a reading of 54.7, up from October’s reading of 54.2. Readings above 50 indicate growth.

However, the employment portion of the index fell to a reading of 50.3 in November from October’s reading of 54.9.
