ISM Forecasts Employment Increase

Manufacturing employment is expected to increase by 1.4 percent in the remainder of 2012 while non-manufacturing employment is expected to increase by 1.9 percent, according to the 2012 semi-annual economic forecast released by the Institute for Supply Management.

Manufacturers’ net revenues are expected to increase 4.5 percent in 2012, down from a prediction of 5.5 percent growth made in a similar report in December.

In the nonmanufacturing sector, net revenues are expected to rise by 4.8 percent in 2012 — up from the December 2011 forecast of 3.1 percent growth in 2011.
