IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced the closing of its acquisition of Kenexa, a Wayne, Penn.-based talent acquisition and management software and services firm. The net purchase price is approximately $1.3 billion.

Kenexa provides recruitment process outsourcing services, applicant tracking software and other cloud-based employee management software. It counts more than 8,900 customers across industries including financial services, pharmaceuticals, retail and consumer.

IBM will bring aboard 2,800 Kenexa employees in 21 countries as part of the deal.
