Hudson replaces CEO; promotes CFO to top exec

April 17, 2015

Hudson Global Inc. (NASD: HSON), a New York-based staffing provider, appointed Stephen Nolan as CEO; Nolan had served as executive VP and CFO since joining the firm 2013. He served as CFO at Adecco Group North America prior to that from 2004 to 2012.

Nolan will replace Manuel “Manolo” Marquez upon the expiration of Marquez’s contract on May 12, and Nolan will remain as CFO until a successor is named. Marquez will also step down from the company’s board and David Offensend, Hudson's lead independent director, will become chairman of the board at that time.

“Since Stephen joined Hudson, he has been an integral member of the senior management team and has been influential in leading the review and restructuring of our operations to drive efficiencies and cost savings,” Offensend said. “He has proven that he has the financial and strategic experience and leadership skills to serve as our next CEO.”

Marquez joined Hudson as CEO and board chairman in 2011. He previously spent 15 years at executive search firm Spencer Stuart, where he led the EMEA region before leaving to become CEO of Amper S.A., a publicly-traded defense, homeland security and telecom services company in Spain.

Offensend thanked Manolo on behalf of the board.

“During Manolo’s tenure, Hudson rationalized its cost base, established a more efficient organizational model and implemented a focused investment strategy,” he said. “There is still much work to be done, but it is clear that the company is better positioned for the future. We are grateful for Manolo’s contributions, and we wish him all the best.”

Hudson last month appointed senior VP of Finance Arthur Curcuru as controller and designated him as the principal accounting officer.
