Houston-based staffing company Murray Resources Ltd. acquired Kingwood Personnel Inc. of Kingwood, Texas.

The transaction closed May 20; terms were not disclosed. The Kingwood Personnel brand will remain, and owner Carol McCord will continue with the company for a transitional period.

Murray Resources has expanded its footprint in the past two years with satellite locations in The Woodlands, Austin and Dallas; however, the Kingwood deal marks its first brick-and-mortar expansion and its first acquisition.

“There are a lot of synergies between the two,” said Keith Wolf, managing director of Murray Resources. “We got our start in admin/clerical back in in 1988, and that’s where they are strong.”

Murray Resources currently has two divisions, professional and technical, and Kingwood deal also brings the firm a logistics segment, a new space for Murray Resources.
