Halloween City, a temporary retailer dedicated to the Halloween holiday, is recruiting 10,000 people to work in the hundreds of temporary Halloween City locations throughout the country. The average store will hire 20 to 25 workers to accommodate the busy Halloween season.

United Furniture Industries (UFI), a manufacturer of furniture that is sold primarily under the Simmons brand name, will hire approximately 400 personnel over the next 36 to 48 months at its new facility in Victorville, Calif.

New York State is hiring “several hundred” temporary workers as part of its NY Works: Neighborhood Rebuilding Corps. The program will provide temporary work to unemployed New Yorkers for a three-month period to assist in rebuilding and reconstruction efforts, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office said.

The city of Trenton, N.J., last week laid off 105 workers from its department of 334 due to budget constraints, the New Jersey Times Reported.
