Heidrick acquires Australian search firm

November 22, 2013

Executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles International Inc. (NASD: HSII) acquired Scambler MacGregor, an Australian-based boutique retained executive search firm that serves the financial services industry.

The transaction closed yesterday and terms were not disclosed.

“Australia is one of Asia Pacific’s largest and most highly developed financial services markets and the addition of Scambler MacGregor gives us added scale and expertise,” said Jory Marino, Heidrick’s interim CEO. “This acquisition strengthens our already extensive banking and investment management relationships to better serve our clients in the region.”

Scambler MacGregor partners David Scambler and Craig Williams will join Heidrick & Struggles, also in the role of partners. They will be based in the company's Sydney office, along with their team of three support professionals.

Scambler MacGregor serves sectors including banking, financial markets, corporate advisory, investment (funds) management, private banking and wealth management and insurance.

Heidrick & Struggles ranks No. 55 on Staffing Industry Analysts list of largest staffing firms in the U.S.
