Healthcare staffing firm files for bankruptcy

March 17, 2010
Crdentia Corp., a Winter Park FL-based healthcare staffing firm, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Wednesday, according to a court filing.

The company reported it has assets of approximately $7.5 million and consolidated liabilities of approximately $22.5 million, according to a court filing. It had 2009 revenue of almost $23.0 million.

Crdentia's filing included a proposal to sell the company at auction with an initial bid of $10 million. If there were no bids, its lender, ComVest, would get substantially all of the equity in the company.

Crdentia operates in five states and provides travel nurses, per diem nurses, locum tenens, allied healthcare and in-home care providers. Formerly a publicly held company based in Dallas, it went private in 2008.
