Health Carousel acquires Ohio-based healthcare staffing firm

November 04, 2015

Healthcare staffing provider Health Carousel acquired Dayton, Ohio-based Next Medical Staffing.

The transaction closed Nov. 1. Terms were not disclosed but the transaction was majority cash at close plus an earn-out based on future company performance.

Next’s team will maintain its Dayton office and operate as a separately branded division of Health Carousel. Next founder and CEO Stacey Stanley will remain the leader of Next, joining the Health Carousel executive team as division president.

“We are very impressed with the Next team and believe they are a great addition to our company. We have similar cultures, working philosophies, and a shared commitment to customer and employee satisfaction,” said Health Carousel CEO Bill DeVille. “The combination of services offered by Next immediately broadens Health Carousel’s menu of services, while Next’s travel staffing business adds scale and a second nurse travel recruiting brand. Our plan is to support Next’s growth by providing resources to hire and train additional internal staff, expand their marketing initiatives, and access to a more robust back-office infrastructure."

The acquisition is part of the company’s growth strategy, which includes expanding services and market share through acquisitions. Next Medical adds scale to Health Carousel’s existing nurse travel staffing business, adds locum tenens physician and nurse practitioner staffing to its service offerings and increases the number of healthcare professionals on assignment across the US by 25%.
