Gevity HR Inc. (NASD: GVHR) appointed Michael Lavington to the newly created position of chief operating officer. Lavington has been a Gevity director since 2006, and has worked in executive human resources and managing director roles for several U.K. and U.S. companies, Gevity said. A citizen of the United Kingdom, Lavington's appointment is subject to gaining U.S. work authorization.
