Genuent Buys Segula’s U.S. IT Staffing Operations

December 21, 2011

Genuent LLC, a Houston-based information technology staffing firm, acquired the U.S. information technology operations of French technology and staffing and solutions company, Segula Technologies.

Segula’s IT operations primarily provide IT staffing with the solutions business as a smaller component. The division has locations in Bedford, N.H.; Rochester, N.Y.; New York; Atlanta; Huntington Beach, Calif.; and Sacramento, Calif.

The Segula operations will transition to the Genuent brand. Genuent has locations in Houston, New York and Jacksonville, Fla. It’s a subsidiary of the Willis Group LLC.

Michael Willis, chairman of the Willis Group, said the decision to buy came as the IT staffing sector is looking up.

“Based on an extensive history and experience in the industry, and IT in particular, we see a number of positive signs that point to an outstanding 2012 for the IT segment,” Willis said.

Both Genuent and the Segula operation provide everything from direct hire to temporary staffing of IT professionals.

Genuent reported the deal will enhance its ability to support larger clients across multiple markets. In addition, it said synergies between the two companies will deliver greater value to its consultants and clients.

“Willis Group’s strategy to support our business leaders in growing their organizations’ footprints and capabilities isn’t complicated,” said Mark Willis, president and CEO of Willis Group. “If it represents additional value or better service for our clients and preserves or enhances the successful culture of the organization, we are on board. Our group is extremely pleased that this great group of people from Segula will have a chance to join the Genuent team and share in the excitement and momentum of that organization.”

Terms of the transaction were not announced.
