General Employment names new CFO

General Employment Enterprises Inc. (NYSE MKT: JOB), an Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based staffing provider, appointed Francis “Frank” Elenio as its CFO effective May 6.

Andrew Norstrud had been the company’s CFO since March 2013, but assumed the responsibilities of principle executive officer in November and was officially appointed CEO in March.

Elenio previously served as CFO for SignalPoint Holding Corp., a privately owned telecommunications company; Wilshire Enterprises Inc., a real estate investment company; as well as publicly traded entities GoAmerica Inc. and RoomLinX Inc.

“General Employment is committed to executing on its strategic growth initiatives,” Norstrud said. “Frank’s work experience with public companies, financial and accounting acumen, advisory background, as well as his education and certification, will contribute to the successful navigation and implementation of these initiatives moving forward.”

Elenio, a certified public accountant, holds an MBA in finance from Seton Hall University, where he also is an adjunct professor. He served on the board of directors of Xplore Technologies Corp., a company engaged in the development, integration and marketing of rugged wireless computers.

General Employment Enterprises received a third extension from the NYSE MKT LLC related to compliance with listing standards.

General Employment operates 22 branch offices in 11 states. It provides professional staffing services and light industrial staffing services.
