General Employment adds former FDIC chairman to board

June 10, 2015

General Employment Enterprises Inc. (NYSE MKT: JOB), an Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based staffing firm, added William “Bill” Isaac to its board of directors as an outside independent director, effective immediately. A former chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Isaac headed the FDIC during the banking crisis of the 1980s, serving under Presidents Carter and Reagan from 1978 through 1985.

Isaac has also served as director on boards of several companies, including staffing firm MPS Group Inc., which was acquired by Adecco Group for $1.3 billion in 2009.

General Employment earlier this year acquired Scribe Solutions Inc., which provides physicians with personal assistants, called medical scribes. Scribe’s former chairman and CEO Derek Dewan — who at one time served as chairman and CEO of MPS Group — took over the chairman and CEO roles at General Employment, replacing Andrew Norstrud as CEO.

Isaac is currently a senior managing director of FTI Consulting, Inc. and serves as Global Head of FTI’s financial institutions practice. In 1986, he founded financial institutions consulting firm The Secura Group and operated the business until it was acquired by FTI in 2011.

General Employment provides professional staffing in information technology, engineering and accounting. It also provides light industrial staffing. Its brands include General Employment, Ashley Ellis, Triad and Omni-One.
