GW Premier becomes Radia International

October 01, 2008

Dedham MA-based staffing organization GW Premier America Inc. changed its name to Radia International effective today. The name change comes as the firm's majority shareholder, Tokyo-based Goodwill Group Inc., changed its own name to Radia Holdings Inc. GW Premier America ranks as the 14th largest staffing firm based on 2007 U.S. revenue, according to Staffing Industry Analysts' list of largest U.S. staffing firms.

Radia International's operating companies include Technical Aid Corp., Talent Tree Inc., Willstaff Inc., Advantage, Holland Group, Advantage Professional and Technical Aid Corp. Europe Ltd.

The Goodwill Group changed its name after turbulent times at its operations in Japan. Charges in Japan over illegal dispatch of staff resulted in the arrest of three internal employees, and the company shut down its temporary staffing subsidiary that supplied day laborers in Japan. The Japanese government also temporarily suspended operations at 737 of the company's staffing offices earlier this year over alleged violations of Japanese law regarding worker referrals.
