France - Agency employment up +17.8%

Agency temporary employment was up by +17.8% in March 2011 compared with March 2010, according to the latest Employment Barometer published by the Association of Temporary Employment Agencies and HR Services Providers (Prisme).

Agency temporary employment among unqualified workers was up by +22.7%. Among qualified workers it was up by +15.4%.

Agency temporary employment among managers was up by +21%. Among white collar workers it was up by +7.8%.

Agency temporary employment in industry was up by +28.4% in March 2011 compared with March 2010. In the services sector it was up by +10.8%, followed by +7.8% in the commercial sector, by +7.4% in construction and by +5.1% in transport and logistics.

In March 2011, 52.1% of agency temporary employees worked in industry, 15.8% worked in the services sector, 15.3% worked in construction, 8.6% worked in commerce and 8.3% worked in transport and logistics.
