Former CEO of CHG Healthcare to run for governor

February 02, 2016

Michael Weinholtz, the former CEO of healthcare staffing firm CHG Healthcare Services, is pursuing election as governor of Utah as a Democrat. Weinholtz announced his run last month.

“I think there’s a mood, both in America and Utah, where people are fed up with the political status quo,” Weinholtz told The Salt Lake City Tribune newspaper. “And I think an outsider, successful businessperson and problem solver might be someone who appeals to those folks.”

Weinholtz had served as CEO of CHG, the second-largest US healthcare staffing firms, since 1998. He stepped down in January 2015 with Scott Beck taking over the CEO role. Weinholtz has appeared on the Staffing 100 list of most influential people in staffing.
