Florida Staffing Jobs Rise in May

Florida added 18,900 jobs in the employment services industry in May when compared with the same month last year, according to data released today by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. The data was not seasonally adjusted. Employment services jobs totaled 180,100 in May.

The employment services category includes temporary help services as well as employment placement agencies, executive search services and professional employer organizations.

Total nonfarm employment in Florida rose by 5,300 jobs in May from April, according to seasonally adjusted numbers. Florida’s unemployment rate was 8.6 percent in May, the lowest since December 2008.
