Fieldglass Inc. CEO Jai Shekhawat will step down as head of the firm, effective Aug. 31. Shekhawat founded Fieldglass in 1999 and is included on The Staffing 100 list of most influential people in the staffing industry.

Rob Brimm, executive VP of worldwide sales, will take over as president and run the firm along with CTO Vish Baliga. Brimm has served on the executive team for the past 11 years, while Baliga has been with Fieldglass since its inception.

VP of Strategy and Marketing Arun Srinivasan will also join the executive leadership team and head strategy and customer operations, overseeing professional services in addition to marketing.

Shekhawat will remain in an advisory role.

Business software giant SAP AG in 2014 acquired Fieldglass, the global spend leader among VMS providers.

“For a couple of months, I’ve had discussions with Bill McDermott, SAP’s CEO, who has been very supportive. There have been many planning sessions within Fieldglass and also with other SAP leaders,” Shekhawat said in a Q&A emailed to Staffing Industry Analysts. “After 16 years dedicating my heart and soul to Fieldglass it is time for me to explore life outside of this firm and regain some much needed time with friends and family. It is strictly a personal decision.”

The company told Fieldglass employees of Shekhawat’s departure July 6 and began informing customers and partners July 8 and 9.

“I love this city and will continue to live here,” Shekhawat said. “I will likely add to my civic duties, will continue mentoring other entrepreneurs and look forward to other adventures life has in store for me.”
