Field Nation, a freelance management system provider, acquired Field Solutions, a Minnetonka, Minn.-based freelance management system provider, the companies announced today.

According to the Field Nation, this is the first pure-play, intra-industry acquisition in the freelance management system marketplace, in North America.

“As a company, we want to think big and think long term,” said Field Nation CEO Mynul Khan. “The acquisition of Field Solutions strengthens our position in the FMS platform space. The project and program management strengths of Field Solutions fit well with the visibility, accountability and control that Field Nation customers demand.”

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Field Solutions employees will join the Field Nation team at its headquarters. Once the integration is complete, Field Nation will employ more than 100 full-time employees.

Field Solutions CEO Mac Lewis will remain with the organization in an advisor role.

Field Nation has more than 50,000 registered users and reported more than $60 million in revenue in fiscal year 2014.
