Express sales rise 10%

February 11, 2013

Express Employment Professionals reported 2012 sales rose 10 percent to $2.3 billion from $2.1 billion in 2011. The staffing provider also reported it placed more than 367,000 people, up from 341,000 the prior year.

“Express built on our record-breaking results last year to drive our continued success in 2012, posting the highest sales totals in our company's 30-year history,” said Chairman and CEO Robert Funk.

Express anticipates growth of 10 percent in 2013 based on continued strong demand for temporary workers.

“We anticipate the jobs outlook will continue to improve as the U.S. economy gains traction during the second half of 2013, resulting in increased hiring and a continued gradual decline in the unemployment rate,” Funk said.

The company opened 40 franchise locations in 2012 and plans to add 48 locations in 2013, targeting strategic markets in 30 states and Canada. Key areas for growth include Michigan, California and Massachusetts.

Oklahoma City-based Express ranks No. 8 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2012 list of largest U.S. staffing firms.
