Express: Hiring Outlook Is Increasing

The hiring outlook in all regions of North America is increasing for administrative and commercial jobs, according to a recent hiring trends survey of employers conducted by Express Employment Professionals, an Oklahoma City-based staffing firm.

Hiring trends for the second quarter of 2012 in all regions are expected to be greatest in commercial and light industrial with 32 percent of respondents are planning for new hires. Twenty-eight percent anticipate adding administrative and office clerical staff.

Additionally, 10 percent plan to hire for accounting and finance, 11 percent of respondents plan to hire for engineering positions and 8 percent have plans to hire marketing and information technology specialists.

When considering new hires, 99 percent of employers who responded to the hiring trends survey said an applicant's attitude is the most important characteristic when making a hiring decision

Express contacted more than 25,000 current and former clients across the United States and Canada for its survey.
