Executive Forum: Create an environment where all can succeed

February 05, 2016

An environment where all can succeed — regardless of gender or age — is important, especially when it comes to innovation. You can have top talent with great ideas to innovate and move ahead, but you won’t hear about those ideas if your top talent doesn’t feel comfortable coming forward.

How to develop such an environment at a staffing firm will be discussed Feb. 24 at the Staffing Industry Executive Forum in Phoenix.

A panel “Creating an environment where women can succeed in your business,” will be led by Diana Gabriel, senior VP of Global Strategy and Solutions at Staffing Industry Analysts. And it will feature four executives from the Global 100 list of women in staffing.

“It doesn’t matter who you are, male or female, there is knowledge there,” Gabriel said. “People can learn from one another and you can create an environment in which everyone can succeed.”

Some ways to make such an environment include leadership being OK with people having an opinion and OK as well with people coming forward to discuss those opinions. Organizations also need to accept different ways of thinking and thought processes. A culture must also back the idea of workers being able to learn from their peers.

Gabriel’s panel begins at 11 a.m., and panelists include:

  • Paula Adams, president, Penmac Staffing
  • Teresa Creech, CEO, ICon Professional Services
  • Ericka Hyson, COO, partner, ettain group
  • Colleen Tiner, senior VP, Product Strategy, Beeline

Of course, men are also welcome to attend the session.
