Ex-staffing firm operator gets five years

July 14, 2009

A former employment agency operator was sentenced to five years in federal prison on charges of conspiring to harbor illegal aliens, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia reported.

Laing Yang, 37, of Duluth GA operated an employment agency that provided illegal workers to Chinese restaurants on the East Coast, according to the office.

Yang was the only defendant in a network of employment agency owners who went to trial. The other owners pleaded guilty to similar charges.
