View All NewsEurope – Eurociett reports accelerating growth of the European market
The average European growth in the number of hours worked accelerated in May, as the Eurociett Agency Work Business Iindicator increased by 9.9% over the past twelve months. This is the highest rise since June 2011. Growth was particularly strong in the Netherlands and Belgium which posted their highest year-on-year rise for over four years with the number of hours worked increasing by 9.0% and 16.6% respectively.
The number of hours worked rose by double-digit levels in Poland (15.5%) and Italy (17.2%). France’s figure is the strongest since the start of the year (4.0%), while a slower pace than previously characterises growth in Denmark (6.6%) and Finland (2.7%). The exception to this bright picture is Switzerland as the number of hours worked fell by 1.6% as the country continues to be locked into a cycle of intermittent expansion and contraction.
The July 2015 Eurociett Agency Work Business Indicator paints a generally positive picture for year-on-year trends in revenues as well. The French agency work industry, where sales tumbled in late 2014, now posts positive year-on-year figures for the 6th month in a row (4.5%). Poland (24.1%), Belgium (17.0%), Denmark (11.7%) and The Netherlands (10.0%) are all posted double-digit revenue rises.
