Employment services sales rise 0.4%

Third-quarter revenue in the U.S. employment services industry rose 0.4% from the second quarter, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates released today. Firms in the employment services category, which includes temporary help, professional employer organizations, and employment placement agencies, had third-quarter revenue of $43.64 billion compared with second-quarter revenue of $43.47 billion.

Revenue was also up 2.3% year-over-year. Employment services took in $42.67 billion in the third quarter of 2006, according to the Census Bureau.

The Census Bureau samples 6,000 employers in various industries on a quarterly basis. Data are not seasonally adjusted.
