May 07, 2013

An employment agency operator from Danville, Penn., was convicted Thursday for conspiracy to commit money laundering and to harbor, transport and employ illegal workers, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania reported.

The defendant, Wally Nguyen, operated an employment agency called “H&T,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. H&T provided hundreds of illegal workers to businesses over a period of several years, and Nguyen provided housing and transportation for illegal workers as well as paid the illegal workforce in cash.

Nguyen must forfeit $50,000 and two properties in Danville that were used to facilitate the crimes, the U.S. Attorney’s Office reported. In addition, Nguyen faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and fines of $750,000.
