Employers to hire 10% more new college grads, survey finds

April 16, 2015

Employers plan to hire 9.6% more new college grads from the class of 2015 for their US operations than they did from the class of 2014, according to Job Outlook 2015 Spring Update survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. That’s up from projections in fall 2014, when employers said they expected to increase their college hiring by 8.3%.

Employers were also asked about their hiring intentions for the class of 2016. Early indications are positive, with more than two-thirds saying they expect to increase or maintain current hiring levels for the Class of 2016

The 162 employers surveyed were members of NACE.

Among responding employers, new graduates with degrees in engineering, business and computer science are most sought after.

The survey is conducted in two parts: fall and spring. This release is based on data collected from Feb. 9 through March 23, 2015. A total of 162 NACE-member organizations participated.
