Employer services price index rises

September 16, 2010

The U.S. producer price index for the employment services industry rose to a reading of 125.8 in August (Dec. 1996=100), up 0.2% from July's reading and up 1.8% from the August 2009 reading, according to nonseasonally adjusted numbers reported today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The producer price index measures price changes over time from the prospective of the seller.

Included in the employment services industry are employment placement agencies, temporary help services, executive search services and professional employer organizations.
