June 27, 2008

The Economic Cycle Research Institute's weekly leading index level measuring the U.S. economy fell to 131.7 for the week ended June 20 from the prior period's level of 132.6. Lower index levels indicate a slower economy. The index's growth rate, derived from a four week moving average and compared against the previous year average, was -6.0%. Last week the growth rate was -5.8%.
