Dice names former BrightLine exec as CFO

Dice Holdings Inc. (NYSE: DHX), an operator of online job boards, named John Roberts as chief financial officer. Roberts succeeds Michael Durney, who became president and CEO in September replacing longtime top executive Scot Melland.

Roberts most recently served as CFO of BrightLine, a provider of interactive television solutions; a position he took on in 2011. Earlier in his career, he was CFO of Right Media, which was ultimately acquired by Yahoo! He also served as CFO at two other public companies: Arbinet-thexchange Inc. from 2004 to 2006 and Razorfish Inc. from 2000 to 2003.

 Roberts started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

“I've known Dice and have been impressed by their vertical strategy and strong financial position for years,” said Roberts. “We are in an advantageous position to invest in future growth, building on our expertise in each vertical and in creating more efficiency in the recruiting process.”

Also, Dice last week reported the upcoming departure of Chief Technology Officer Bennett Smith in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
