Despite slowdown, 19% want new job

Despite the recession, 19% of workers said finding a new job is on their list of New Year's resolutions, according to the 2009 job forecast survey by CareerBuilder.com.

Among the reasons for leaving, 49% cited better pay and/or career advancement opportunities as the primary reasons they plan to seek a new job.

Among other reasons:
—? 14% are looking for an environment where they feel appreciated.
—? 10% want to work for a company that is making a difference.
—? 7% are changing careers entirely.
—? 3% are leaving because they want more flexibility or plan to return to school.

The survey questioned 8,800 workers and was taken between Nov. 12 and Dec. 1.
