Denmark – Job market going from strength to strength

06 May 2015

The Danish labour market is going from strength to strength, with the number of new jobs advertised in a single month surpassing 20,000 for the first time since October 2008, according to the latest figures from Danish job board Jobindex.

The number of jobs advertised in April 2015 was 20,700, compared with 19,900 in March 2015 and 18,400 in April 2014; representing increases of 4% and 12.5% respectively.

Over the past year the number of job adverts for the private sector has increased by more than 20%, driven by both permanent and contingent positions, while the public sector has growth by only 4% over the past year.

Jobindex expects the current trend to continue over the coming quarter.
