North Dakota registered the lowest jobless rate among all states in September at 4.2%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. South Dakota posted the second-lowest rate at 4.8%. Nebraska reported the third-lowest at 4.9%.
Michigan posted the highest unemployment rate among all states in September at 15.3%. Nevada reported the second-highest at 13.3%. The states with the next-highest rates were Rhode Island at 13.0% and California at 12.2%.
