DTI Acquires Legal Staffing Provider

September 19, 2012

DTI acquired Houston-based Providus, which provides legal staffing, recruiting and document review services. DTI, based in Atlanta, provides legal discovery services, facilities management and knowledge process outsourcing. The acquisition follows DTI’s June acquisition of California-based Data Forté, a pre-litigation consulting and data forensics company.

“Combining Providus’ legal staffing and document review expertise and DTI’s e-discovery services will create a unique and superior managed document review business supporting both law firms and corporations nationwide,” said John Davenport Jr., founder and CEO of DTI. “We were struck by the similarity of our cultures and client-oriented view. Like us, Providus has forged strong relationships with its clients and we intend to build upon that momentum. As a unified team, we will be able to deliver a wider and more impactful scope of support to our clients.”

The Providus leadership team will join DTI. The leadership team includes Michelle Rosen, senior vice president of sales and operations; Jackie Bebczuk, senior vice president of national client development; and Deborah Post, managing director of the western region.

DTI operates through 28 service centers located in major U.S. cities. Providus is located in major markets nationwide, including Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C.

Terms of the transaction were not announced.

Duff & Phelps acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Providus on this transaction.
