Digital Intelligence Systems LLC appointed Laura Smith as vice president of global human resources, a new position within the McLean, Va.-based IT staffing and consulting firm. She is responsible for all human resources matters including culture change, employee engagement, consultant care, and global compliance and business growth.

Smith joined DISYS in November 2014. She previously was executive director of human resources for Edelman, a global marketing communications firm. Before her 16-year career at Edelman, Smith worked in HR at organizations including Mercer, Foster Higgins and PepsiCo.
