Excelsior Inc., a sales and executive recruitment firm based in metro Washington D.C., joined recruitment firm The Richmond Group USA. Excelsior will now operate as the Excelsior Group, A TRG company.

The transaction closed Feb. 3 and terms were not disclosed. Excelsior’s executives will remain with the company in their same roles.

Excelsior will continue operating out of the Washington D.C. area. However, its corporate headquarters and all administration and expanded service offerings will be based out of TRG’s Richmond, Va., office, enabling Excelsior to provide services on a national scale.

“Merging with The Richmond Group enables Excelsior to provide a wider range of quality services such as professional contract staffing and recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) through People Solutions and WorkRocket, both part of TRG's family of companies," said Excelsior Founder and President Mike Matalone.
