Locum Leaders LLC, a provider of locum tenens based in Alpharetta GA, received a five-year federal supply schedule contract on Jan. 15 that allows it to place locum tenens at federal healthcare facilities.

"It gives us the ability to compete for and place locum tenens positions in all federal healthcare facilities," Alex Gramling, VP of marketing at Locum Leaders, said.

The contract provides a significant opportunity for Locum Leaders to grow its business, and gives its doctors the ability to work at federal sites, Gramling said.

"It also recognizes Locum Leaders as a government-certified small business," he said, giving the company an advantage in some federal contracts.

Assignments at federal government facilities can be attractive to locum tenens because federal facilities recognize any state medical license, offer greater choice for locum tenens and contract assignments are often long term, according to Locum Leaders LLC.
