ICon Professional Services, a Foster City CA-based independent contractor compliance and payrolling firm, said its online independent contractor compliance tool is now being made available by accounting firm KPMG to its customers.

ICon President Patricia Griffin said her firm and KPMG had been in talks for two years before partnering to offer KPMG customers the tool.

The online tool, called ICverify, includes a questionnaire with one portion filled out by the manager and another portion filled out by the independent contractor. The Web-based tool can then make a recommendation.
