Command Center revenue falls 15.4%

August 15, 2008

Second-quarter revenue at Command Center Inc. (OTCBB: CCNI.OB) fell 15.4% to $21.2 million, the Post Falls ID-based commercial staffing firm said.

Same-store sales fell 9.9% year-over-year in the second quarter to $18.9 million, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The decline came as economic factors and fuel costs caused customers to take a conservative approach to staffing, the company said. It expects improvement in the third quarter as it enters its high season.

Command Center said it opened one store and closed 14 in the second quarter of 2008. The firm closed six more in July.

Second-quarter gross margin slipped to 23.3% from 28.7% amid workers' compensation claims, the company said.

The second-quarter net loss was $1.4 million, an increase over the net loss of $1.3 million in the same period last year.
