Command Center revenue down 36%

May 12, 2009

First-quarter revenue fell 35.7% year-over-year at Command Center Inc. (OTCBB: CCNI.OB) to $12.8 million. Glenn Welstad, CEO of the Post Falls ID-based commercial staffing firm, said slow economic conditions affected revenue as did a decrease in the number of stores. Command Center had 51 branches in the first quarter compared with 82 in the year-ago quarter.

Gross margin narrowed to 24.2% in the first quarter from 24.4% in the first quarter of 2008.

Command Center posted a net loss of $2.1 million compared with a net loss of $2.6 million in the same period last year.

Welstad said the second quarter appears more positive with costs having stabilized, margins up and sales climbing.
