Ciett, the international staffing association, released its annual report on the global private employment agencies. It found the global number temporary agency workers numbered 36 million full-time equivalents in 2012, down from last year’s report. However, global temporary employment revenue reached €299.3 billion (US$411.1 billion), up from last year’s reported number of €259.0 billion.

It also found there were 137,300 temporary employment agencies in 2012 with 203,500 branches and 624,500 internal staff.

Other findings included that 61 percent of agency workers are under 30, and only 32 percent were employed before undertaking agency work.
