Ciber names tech veteran as new CEO

July 01, 2010

Ciber Inc. (NYSE: CBR), the Greenwood Village CO-based IT solutions and staffing firm, announced Dave Peterschmidt as its new CEO.

Former CEO Mac Slingerlend announced in April he was retiring. Executive VP and CFO Peter Cheesbrough filled the role on an interim basis.

Peterschmidt previously served as CEO at Openwave Systems Inc., a Redwood City CA-based technology firm, from November 2004 through March 2007, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Peterschmidt takes over the CEO role at Ciber effective immediately and will also serve on its board.

In a press release, Peterschmidt said his initial focus at Ciber will be to streamline operations and bolster innovation.

Ciber ranked No. 55 on Staffing Industry Analysts' 2009 list of largest U.S. staffing firms.

Peterschmidt will move to the Denver area from California's Silicon Valley.
