U.S. employment services industry revenue rose to $58.09 billion in the second quarter, down 0.1 percent from the first quarter, according to seasonally adjusted estimates released today by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The employment services category measured by the bureau includes employment placement agencies, executive search firms, temporary employment agencies and professional employer organizations.

Using nonseasonally adjusted numbers from the Census Bureau, second-quarter employment services revenue is up 4.9 percent compared to the second quarter of last year.

Census estimates of staffing industry revenue differ from other estimates.
