The U.S Census Bureau reported today that first-quarter revenue in the U.S. employment services industry rose 15.3 percent on a seasonally adjusted year-over-year basis in the first quarter of 2011. The bureau estimated the industry generated $57.67 billion in the first quarter of 2011 on a seasonally adjusted basis, up from $50.00 billion in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue rose 3.1 percent from fourth-quarter estimates of $55.92 billion.
The employment services category measured by the Census includes employment placement agencies, executive search firms, temporary employment agencies and professional employer organizations.
