Census Bureau meets temp worker deadline

July 31, 2009

The U.S. Census Bureau said today it met its July 1 deadline to fill 2,200 temporary jobs for the 2010 U.S. Census. The bureau said it used $120 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to create the positions.

The new jobs will last through the summer of 2010, when the 2010 Census outreach activities are completed.
